Our API uses a cloud-hosted, straightforward JSON interface to give you access to our industry-leading food and ingredient database for real-time results to third-party queries. This API can assist with personal nutrition recommendations, recipe nutrient breakdowns and the building of nutrition facts labels.
Each food item in the database reports values for Calories, Fat, Carbs, Protein and up to more than 80 additional nutrients and other factors (examples: MyPlate values and diabetic exchanges). All updates are integrated carefully by our Nutrition Team, who run both new and existing data through a series of rigorous checks and calculations. These protocols mean we have the highest-quality database available.
